2013 Traumatic stress, particularly early in life, can significantly impact the development and progression of chronic illnesses , potentially leading to increased inflammation, immune system dysregulation, and a higher risk of conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and autoimmune  disease.  I was bedridden only leaving home for doctor appointments that required labs and other tests using a walker until I was able to use a cane.
